Attend the Virtual Training Workshop on EO and Copernicus for Flood and Drought Management

The Centre for Remote Sensing of Land Surfaces (ZFL) of the University of Bonn in Germany is organising a training workshop on using Copernicus for flood and drought management. Floods and droughts are some of the most frequent natural disasters threatening livelihoods, food security, infrastructure and even life. Remote sensing and earth observation provide valuable tools to monitor ongoing floods and drought, assess the current situation from space and produce products that can support stakeholders and decision-makers.

Participants will benefit from tools and platforms that simplify earth observation data, benefiting those without extensive background knowledge on the subject. The examples that will be utilised during the course of the training will be African centred.

Furthermore, the training is specifically designed for participants from African countries from government agencies, academia, NGOs or other institutions involved in disaster management or risk reduction.
