About the Programme

EgSA and EAPD have run the programme since 2022. It is part of Egypt’s capacity-building work for the continent, which also hosts the African Space Agency headquarters. Earlier cycles covered satellite technology basics and hands-on work in EgSA’s laboratories, and experts from partner institutions, including the Italian Space Agency, contributed to the teaching. In a 2025 statement to UN COPUOS, Egypt reported that the programme had trained 71 specialists from 34 African countries over four years. The 2026 edition is the first to be held at the Egyptian Space Academy, which EgSA set up in March 2026 as its dedicated training institution.
