SUMMARY:16th EUMETSAT User Forum
DESCRIPTION:The 16th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa will be held from September 16 to 20\, 2024\, in Cotonou\, Benin. The European Organisation organises the event for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) in collaboration with the Agence Nationale de la Météorologie du Bénin (Météo Bénin) under the Ministry of Living Environment and Transport of the Republic of Benin. \nThe EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa is a collaborative platform that fosters ongoing dialogue between EUMETSAT and the African user community\, including National Meteorological Services and their regional centres. The forum’s primary goal is to encourage the widespread use of EUMETSAT satellite data throughout Africa. Importantly\, it offers a unique opportunity for stakeholders to actively participate and suggest actions and initiatives that EUMETSAT could undertake to address their specific needs. \nThe first Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellite data is being transmitted to Africa through EUMETCast. Therefore\, this forum will explore how this data can improve early warning systems for extreme weather events. The event programme will feature presentations and open discussions on using space for early warning systems in Africa. \nFor more information\, visit the event website here. \n\nClick here to get real time data and information on every Segments and players in the African space and satellite industry.
