NATO Strategic Direction-South Hub Call for Paper

The NATO Strategic Direction-South Hub (NSD-S Hub) invite subject matter experts and organisations from the Middle East and North Africa worldwide to submit a paper on “MENA Space Capabilities and Security Challenges: Applications to disaster management”. 

Satellites provide critical infrastructure for data communication for essential civilian and military applications. In the Middle East and Africa, space capabilities can promote socio-economic development. Over the past decade, about 30 space organisations have been established in Africa, and more than 40 satellites have been launched. In the Middle East, investment in space technology and capabilities has been one of the routes towards economic diversification.

Ideas and concepts to be developed through the call for papers:
Who can apply

Subject matter experts and organisations from the Middle East and North Africa are invited to submit an abstract (200-300) on selected topics about – MENA Space Capabilities and Security Challenges: Applications to disaster management.  

Deadline for submission – 06 April 2022.

The NSD-S Hub will select the most exciting and relevant topics, eventually inviting the author(s) to submit a full paper (1000 to 1500 words) and participate in an international conference held in Naples, Italy, scheduled for 28-29 June 2022.
