SANSA has Openings for Satellite Operations Technicians (In-Service Trainees)

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is looking to recruit two satellite operations technicians (in-service trainees). This learning opportunity exists at the space operations programme in Hartebeesthoek, Gauteng. These positions are to be filled by individuals with the relevant skills, drive and qualifications.

The trainees in this role will be exposed to satellite ground station operations, including rendering Earth–observation satellite data acquisition services to SANSA’s Earth-observation directorate, providing Tracking, Telemetry and Command (TT&C) support and satellite monitoring services to a host of international space agencies and satellite operators.

The job location is in a remote area with no access to public transport. As a result, applicants need to have a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to and from work. Furthermore, background verification, including criminal records, credit checks, security clearances, capabilities, and citizenship checks, as well as competency assessment and psychometric testing, may form part of the selection process.
