WSWA is Organising Webinar in Anticipation of WSW 2022

The World Space Week Association is organising the second in a series of webinars to celebrate the theme of the upcoming World Space Week 2022. 2022’s World Space Week theme is “Space and Sustainability”.

The creation of economically self-sustaining space sectors has become the focus of many countries, ensuring that space activities are part of a wider ecosystem of domestically driven and retained socio-economic development. However, the financial cost of space operations can be a great hindrance to the growth of the space economy. When additional sustainability constraints are added to the spacecrafts’ design and operation, the challenge is even higher than space actors face.

As a result, some of the questions that panellists of the online event will discuss include what the concept of a sustainable space economy entails; how sustainable economies can contribute to protecting the space environment; and what actions the global space community should take to ensure a sustainable space economy to thrive.

The Webinar will hold tomorrow, 6 September 2022, at 15:00 CEST (14:00 WAT). Interested persons can register for the event here. Admission is free.

World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1999 that World Space Week would hold each year from October 4-10. These dates commemorate two events:
