Attend the Annual GEO Symposium and Open Data and Open Knowledge Workshop

The annual Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Symposium 2023 will hold a physical event themed “Stand out in the crowd: GEO Work Programme for Nature, People, and Planet”, between 13-14 June 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland. The symposium will enable the GEO Work Programme community to encourage exchanging expertise and advancing collaboration between partners for continuous growth.

Participants and speakers will leverage the symposium’s previous successes to propel equitable access to Earth Observation data globally and foster the exchange of socioeconomic-related insights for rapid development.

Furthermore, the Open Data and Open Knowledge Workshop will be held after the symposium.

Interactive Dialogues

Leaders of the GEO Work Programme will work with the Post-2025 Working Group members, Programme Board members, users and partners, and other key stakeholders to have interactive dialogues about the GEO Post-2025 strategy and the GEO Work Programme. Each interactive discussion will feature a panel session and explore a vital topic of the post-2025 strategy.

Interested individuals who would like to contribute to one of the sessions mentioned above can email geo-wp@geosec.org, with ‘GEO Symposium’ as the subject title and before writing their content of contribution.

The Open Data and Open Knowledge Workshop 

The Data Working Group, in collaboration with the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) Platform and the GEO Knowledge Hub teams, are hosting a two-day Open Data and Open Knowledge workshop between 15-16 June 2023 at WMO Building – 7bis avenue de la Paix, Geneva, Switzerland.

The workshop will enable the GEO community to explore technical accomplishments, challenges, and solutions and allow all GEO Work Programme activities to embrace open knowledge practices.
