Participate in the African and Middle East Space Conference (AMESC) 2025

AMESC 2025, organised by the Moroccan Initiative for Space Industry (MISI) in partnership with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), will take place from February 5 to 8, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco. Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) will host the conference.

AMESC aims to highlight and enhance the Middle East’s and Africa’s contributions to the global space sector. This further reflects the organisers’ commitment to fostering international cooperation and supporting emerging spacefaring nations. AMESC seeks to enrich the global space narrative by bringing diverse perspectives and innovations together and driving the industry forward.

Event Programme

The event programme will feature welcome and keynote addresses from space agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Italian Space Agency (ASI), and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), among others. Additionally, the African Space Leadership Institute (ASLI), the United Nations Office for Outer Space Activities (UNOOSA) and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) will also give welcome remarks. 

The conference will also include panels and discussions on international collaborations, the Artemis Accord, the African Space Agency’s regional growth, business entrepreneurship, and investment in space, among other topics. AMESC will also feature topics such as the Euroconsult Space Economy Report, Africa Earth Observation Challenge winners, and the Mars 2117 project, among others. 

AMESC Conference Objectives.

  1. Promote unity and collaboration among stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise in Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
  2. Advance innovation and technological development while showcasing the latest advancements in space science and technology and developing innovative solutions within the space sector.
  3. Facilitating knowledge exchange and uncovering challenges through keynote speeches, round tables, workshops and panel discussions. The event is committed to enriching the expertise of participants, identifying and addressing specific challenges, and contributing to the overall growth of the regional space capacities.
  4. Strengthening African and Middle Eastern Space Programmes while also offering support and resources to countries looking to develop or enhance their space programs across the region.

Additional Event Information

The upcoming event’s audience will include a diverse range of stakeholders, such as government officials and policymakers, investors and entrepreneurs, space industry professionals, international space organisations, young professionals and students, educators and outreach professionals, academia and researchers, as well as the general public and space enthusiasts. This broad representation aims to foster collaboration and engagement across all space industry sectors.

Additionally, potential partners include countries in Africa and worldwide, major space companies, NewSpace start-ups, and institutions worldwide.
