The African Astronomical Society (AfAS) is organising the 5th AfAS Conference, scheduled from 23rd to 28th March 2025 (AfAS-2025), hosted by the University of South Africa (UNISA) at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa.

This hybrid-format event will allow online and in-person participation, making it accessible to a wider audience across Africa and globally. AfAS-2025 will highlight Africa’s expanding contributions to global astronomy. Emphasising science’s transformative role, it will offer diverse sessions on recent scientific developments, outreach projects, and education and infrastructure initiatives to grow astronomy across the continent. Furthermore, the conference will also feature the election of a new AfAS Executive Committee and a General Assembly session.
