The AGEOS Consortium and its partners are looking for a Cabinet that will be responsible for the development of a Central African Forest Warning System called “CAFWS” (Central Africa Forest Warning System).
The role of the firm will be to ensure the processing of satellite images for the creation of a system that will automatically detect changes in forest cover and issue deforestation alerts.
The main objective of CAFWS is to improve the capacities of managers, forestry, environmental and policymakers to monitor and assess forest degradation using Sentinel or Landsat type earth observation products and data.
CAFWS helps assess and analyze information from OT data to support decision making. This platform must provide operational information to all actors working in the monitoring of natural resources in near real-time, that is to say in less than two (2) hours after the product is made available by the data provider.
This platform must necessarily operate from free data. In particular, we will favour Sentinel-1 (HR radar), Sentinel-2 (HR optics) and/or Landsat-8 (HR optics) data.
The procedures and modalities for submitting applications are detailed in the Terms of Reference.
