Attend the 2023 Group on Earth Observation (GEO) Week from 6th to 10th November 2023 at Cape Town, South Africa. The event will focus on synthesising Earth observation data, technology and science and translating it into free, trusted information accessible to interested individuals.

In addition, the Cape Town Ministerial Summit will be held on the sidelines of the event. GEO Week and the Ministerial Summit will provide an opportunity to highlight contributions, commitments and earth observation solutions on a global stage.

GEO Week 2023 will include the GEO-19 Plenary from 8th – 9th November, and the GEO Ministerial Summit will be held on Friday, 10th November. GEO Week and the Ministerial Summit will be in-person events, with some sessions broadcast through a livestream.

The event will gather Ministers, as well as representatives from the private sector, civil society and international organisations, representing a unique opportunity for high-level networking and discussion.

Invitational Travel Request

The allocation of funding by the Secretariat will give precedence to individuals who fulfil two critical criteria: active participation in the GEO Week 2023 governance activities and originating from lower-income countries.

Furthermore, the Secretariat will consider equity, diversity, and inclusion principles to ensure representation at GEO Week 2023. It is worth noting that, per past practices, the Secretariat can only offer travel support to a delegate per delegation.
