The International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) School, in collaboration with the Physics Society of Zambia, African Geophysical Society (AGS), ISWI, the University of Zambia, Copperbelt University, Nkrumah University, Mulungushi University, Catholic University of America, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), among others, invites interested early career professionals, MSc and PhD students based in Africa, to apply for its programme. The programme will be held between 26 – 30 September 2023 in Lusaka, Zambia, at the Grand Palace Hotel.
Thematic Areas
Topics which may be covered include solar and terrestrial physics (e.g., heliosphere, solar wind, magnetosphere, ionosphere, thermosphere, etc.), and the impact of space weather on the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and ground infrastructure will be explored.
In addition, attendees will be able to deliver brief presentations concerning their ongoing space weather projects or areas of interest for future research.
Travel Support
A limited amount of travel assistance is accessible; thus, participants who require support are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for a presentation.
