Register for NASRDA’S Hackathon and Tech Fair

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) is inviting Nigerians with innovative ideas to submit their space-based technological solutions to problems and challenges facing Nigeria in the following thematic areas:

• Robotics;
• Artificial intelligence / Cyber-security;
• Disruptive Space Applications; and
• Nanotechnology.

Eligibility

• Must be a Nigerian with a valid means of identification;
• Must have a product or innovative solution that solves specific problems relating to the thematic areas listed above;
• Must not be a company representative with a product in the market; and
• Must be ready to participate physically in the hackathon program in Abuja throughout the duration of the event.

Accommodation and Transportation

The NASRDA hackathon team will provide transportation and accommodation for all selected participants during the hackathon.

Prize

There will be cash prizes for each winning team member in each of the four thematic areas.

• 1st Prize – USD 2,172 (NGN 1,000,000);
• 2nd Prize – USD 1,629 (NGN 750,000); and
• 3rd Prize – USD 1,086 (NGN 500,000).

How to Register

Interested individuals must register here by 13 April 2023. In addition, participants can either register their solution as an individual or a group with a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. 

All submissions are subject to screening for the final selection of participants.

NASRDA Tech Fair

NASRDA invites individuals, companies, institutions, and agencies with established/market-ready technological solutions, to exhibit and demonstrate their products, prototype, ideas and innovations in a technological fair (Tech Fare) co-located with NASRDA Hackathon 2023.

Participants are required to:

• Be an individual, team, company, institution, agency or other legal entity in the country with established, standardised or market-grade technological solutions/ products;
• Have a viable product in the developing stage, prototype level, or already launched with commercial traction;
• Apply for and secure one or more exhibition booths at the NASRDA’s venue during the duration of the tech fair; and
• To display posters and banners of their exhibited products in their booths.

Benefits

• Sponsors and registered participants with secured exhibition booths will have the opportunity of advertising their products on the hackathon website, social media handles, in the programme of events, and in the demonstration hall according to the categories of their sponsorships;
• Selected sponsors and exhibitors, according to their categories, will have the opportunity of presenting their products to all participants in the event hall;
• Selected outstanding ideas and prototypes at the development stage will be offered mentorship and incubation opportunities towards commercialisation; and
• Networking opportunities with industry leaders in Nigeria’s science and technology sector.
