AAC Clyde Space is Hiring a Production and Test Technician

AAC Clyde Space, a leading NewSpace company specialising in small satellite technologies and services, is looking to recruit a Production and Test Technician to join its Space Africa team in Durbanville, South Africa. In line with AAC Clyde Space’s expansion plan, the incumbent will assist the AAC Space Africa team in developing, testing and deploying AAC’s world-class satellite technology of custom hardware and software for space and terrestrial-based RF communications systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collate, review and write reports for test results with recommended actions;
  • Raise non-conformance reports and lead investigations until concluded;
  • Work to the company’s standards relating to quality control and assurance;
  • Oversee and maintain  safe working practices in the production facilities; and
Required Skills
  • Technical competence with soldering and reworking;
  • Experience using an oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and VNA;
  • Efficient electronic troubleshooting skills;
  • Experience with version and change history control management;
  • Ability to work independently and interface with suppliers;
  • Capability to write test and non-conformance reports;
  • Methodical and diligent working practices;
  • Efficient documentation skills;
  • Efficient administrative skills;
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines;
  • Experience utilising IT and Microsoft software applications.
  • Proficiency using Altium Designer CAD software proficiency;
  • Fine pitch soldering skills;
  • Firmware configuration skills;
  • Stock management skills;
  • Electronic test and measurement skills; and
  • Product management and logistics skills.
Desired skills
  • National Diploma level (Electronic Engineering) with 3 years / 2 year academic +1 year relevant industry internship;
  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology in radio communications-related subjects; and
  • An IPC soldering certificate;
