In partnership with Expertise France, the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) has announced sponsorship opportunities for startups and small enterprises interested in participating in KSEC 2024. This collaboration aims to support financially constrained startups with innovative geospatial data and technology projects. Interested startups are encouraged to apply for sponsorship by Friday, June 7th, 2024. The sponsorship will cover expenses such as KSEC registration fees, exhibition space, promotion during the event, and travel/accommodation support for participants from outside Nairobi.
The sponsorship opportunity targets start-ups duly registered in Kenya that use Geospatial Data and technology to develop products and/or offer services in the following thematic areas: agriculture and Food Security, Spatial Planning/urban management, Disaster Management, Environment/Natural Resources Management, and Geospatial Data Management.
Benefits
- One team from each thematic area will be selected to exhibit at KSEC 2024, held at Edge Convention Centre, Nairobi; and
- A representative of the Best of the FIVE selected exhibiting startups will win a fully paid space industry visit to Toulouse, France, in November 2024, courtesy of Expertise France.
Important Dates
- Application Deadline: 12:00 pm EAT on 10th June 2024;
- Evaluation of Applications: 11th June 2024;
- Notification of top FIVE projects: 12th June 2024;
- Exhibition of ST-MIC during KSEC 2024: 18th – 20th June 2024; and
- Announcement of the Best Project: 3:00 pm EAT on 20th June 2024.
