As the company scales up and expands operations, it seeks a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive team and drive financial strategy and performance across its international footprint.
Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping Simera Sense’s financial direction, ensuring sound financial management practices and strategies that support sustainable growth and profitability. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial planning, reporting, analysis, and control for the company’s multinational operations.
Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to optimise resource allocation and drive profitability.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Cash Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support ongoing operations and strategic initiatives. Oversee banking relationships and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and interest rate exposure.
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Develop tax strategies, manage tax and transfer pricing compliance, and optimise tax efficiency across multiple jurisdictions.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational excellence.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Investor Relations: Serve as a key liaison with investors and other stakeholders, providing high standards and periodic financial information.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, offering strategic financial counsel and insights to inform decision-making. Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Partnerships: Evaluate potential strategic partnerships, conducting due diligence and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Scale-Up Challenges: Proactively address the unique challenges of scaling up operations in diverse geographic regions, including regulatory compliance, currency fluctuations, and cultural differences.
- Technology and Systems Integration: Ensure technology infrastructure can scale alongside the business and integrate with existing systems seamlessly.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimisation and automation initiatives to enhance the finance function’s efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Profile and Qualifications
- You hold a Master’s degree in economics/finance and have at least ten (10) years of working experience within a similar function with end responsibility within an international matrix organisation, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated track record of success in multinational environments and high-growth companies.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, preferably French, with strong communication skills with stakeholders (investors, management, team level).
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven strategic financial management track record, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting to PE investors.
- Experience in managing financial operations in multiple geographic regions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- You are willing to travel up to 20% of your time.
