The Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD), in partnership with the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), invites interested individuals to apply for the RAS – Astro4Dev Mobility grant. In addition, the grant aims to establish and nurture research, education and development-related partnerships between the United Kingdom (UK) and countries where astronomy research is still in its infancy.
Who can apply for a RAS-Astro4Dev mobility grant?
Researchers or science communicators based in the UK or those outside the UK willing to collaborate with a UK partner.

Interested individuals must submit a completed application here before 1 May 2023.
Terms and Conditions
- The maximum RAS-OAD grant contribution will generally be USD 1,246 (£1,000). Nonetheless, additional support leveraged from other sources (agencies, foundations, etc.) will also be acceptable and will be considered favourably in reviewing the applications;
- The grant must be spent within one year of the award; and
- After completion of the trip, the project PI will be required to provide a report describing the activities undertaken, an account of the grant spending, and recommendations regarding further actions.
