The SatNav Africa Joint Programme Office (JPO), together with the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) and Collins Aerospace, will host an educational webinar on Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) for Air Operators in Africa on July 9, 2024, at 14:00 UTC.
The webinar’s primary objective is to update Air Operators in Africa about the benefits of SBAS technology, its global implementation status, and the latest developments in Africa. The webinar will highlight the Augmented Navigation for Africa (ANGA) SBAS Programme, including the various SBAS flight demonstrations conducted. It will also provide the latest updates on GNSS SBAS avionics solutions from a key solutions provider.
Ultimately, the webinar aims to foster the adoption of SBAS by air operators in Africa. Participants will be equipped with the necessary information to integrate SBAS into their navigation strategies and plans, ensuring the readiness of this African aviation user community for SBAS.
