The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) has kickstarted its annual summer training programme for Egyptian universities and higher institutes students. The programme is held as part of the activities of the Egyptian University Training Moon project for the year 2022-2023 in cooperation with Al-Azhar University.
The Agency will be offering both practical and theoretical courses to suit all the diverse student groups this year. This includes:
- Advanced Space Sciences and Satellite Technologies (hands-on )
- Basic Space Sciences and Satellite Technologies (lectures)
Thus, the Egyptian Space Agency invites all interested candidates wishing to benefit from the training programme to register their data on the Agency’s website via this link.
The Egyptian Universities Training Satellite (EUTS) project is aimed at building the software packages required to operate the satellite system; onboard equipment and the flight control centre. This capacity-building project has been identified as one of the most important EgSA programmes.
The EUTS objective is to build a nano-satellite, that is a 1U CubeSat (10 x 10 x 10 cm) fully developed by Egyptian students, thus:
- Each Graduation project represents a specific subsystem of the satellite.
- Students work groups are distributed on projects according to their academic specialization.
The programme is also an avenue for the EgSA to establish strong relations with Egyptian universities and institutes and transfer advanced technological knowledge.
