IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), in collaboration with its partners, is organising the 66th Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 66), themed “Early Warning for Anticipatory Action” for the March to May 2024 season between February 20 – 21, 2024 in Kampala, Uganda. The forum will be held in a hybrid format (both in person and virtually on Zoom) and within the framework of IGAD’s Regional Strategy for Mainstreaming Climate Services in Key Socio-Economic Sectors for Sustainable Development.
Furthermore, the event will be preceded by the in-person climate prediction development workshop from 12 to 16 February 2024, along with virtual co-production workshops.. The forum will bring together climate scientists, researchers, users from critical socio-economic sectors, governmental and non-governmental organisations, development partners, decision-makers, media, and civil society stakeholders.
How to Attend
Interested participants, mainly from relevant socio-economic sectors, development partners, end-users of climate services, academia, researchers, climate information providers, and humanitarian agencies, should register on the ICPAC website by February 14, 2024. A link to the forum will be provided once registration has been completed.
