The South African National Space Agency (SANSA), in collaboration with the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Department of Science and Innovation, is hosting a Space talk.
The topic for the event is: The Ups and Downs of the Solar Cycle. Furthermore, the space talk will also double as the inaugural lecture of Dr Martin Snow. He will discuss the changes in the Sun over the last few decades and predictions for solar cycle 25. Recall that Dr Martin Snow was appointed as the First research chair of SANSA Research Chair Initiative (SARCHI) in April 2021.
Dr Snow has a PhD in Astrophysical, Planetary, and Atmospheric Science from the University of Colorado Boulder in the USA. His research interest centres around ultraviolet solar spectral irradiance (SSI) measurements and he has been principal investigator and lead instrument scientist on a number of critical space missions.
The Webinar will take place on 3, June 2021, at 6 pm SAST. To register for the webinar, please follow this link. Additionally, SANSA will also livestream the event on its YouTube channel.
