Space for Humanity, the non-profit organising the planet’s first sponsored citizen astronaut mission to send leaders and citizens of diverse racial, economic and disciplinary backgrounds into space, has opened the application process for exceptional leaders from all around the world to apply for an opportunity to go to space.

The organisation’s mission is deeply rooted in the concept that astronauts gain a new or different perspective when they look back at Earth from orbit; the astounding beauty of our planet and how incredible our existence is as a people. A phenomenon also called the “Overview Effect.” Space For Humanity believes that these new perspectives shape society in extraordinary ways.

Space For Humanity (S4H) is sending exceptional leaders to space to experience the Overview Effect and lead from that perspective here on Earth. Applicants will be selected by a diverse committee to enter into S4H’s Leadership Training & Cohort program. Upon return, they will learn how to implement their new perspective here on Earth.

Space For Humanity’s programs includes the planet’s first Citizen Astronaut Sponsorship Program and Overview Leadership Program; research reports and resources; community collaborations and partnerships; a podcast titled “Overview Sessions” and launch parties and events featuring guest panellists and expert conversations. The S4H Citizen Astronaut Program includes a sponsored ticket, overview leadership program training and access to an overview cohort network.
