The African Network of Women in Astronomy is actively recruiting three new members to serve on the Board in a voluntary capacity. Individuals of all gender identities are encouraged to apply without nationality restrictions. However, applicants must be either PhD students in astronomy or at an advanced professional career stage eager to take on leadership roles and actively engage in AfNWA’s activities and decision-making processes.
AfNWA strives to enhance the representation of women in science across Africa and to utilise astronomy as a catalyst for inspiring more girls to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. In addition, AfNWA aims to guarantee the ongoing engagement of girls and women at every stage in the progression of astronomy and science in Africa.
