EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency focused on creating and operating meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space every day of the year. The information is then supplied to the National Meteorological Services in the member states organisations in Europe and their users globally.

EUMETSAT is offering an internship in the Strategy Communication and International Relations Division.  This is part of its initiatives in developing countries, mainly in Africa, Western Balkans and Eastern European countries. EUMETSAT aims to strengthen African user capacities to access and exploit the next generation of EUMETSAT meteorological satellite data. That is through Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), EPS Second Generation (EPS-SG). Moreover, the organisation aims to create value-added services synergies with Copernicus products.

This internship would be ideal for someone interested in development aid programmes, meteorology and/or climate change and/or environmental studies. It will also be an asset if they are familiar with working in developing countries. Additionally, it would be beneficial if the intern is well-versed in using social media tools.
