The Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD) in collaboration with the Development in Africa with Radio Astronomy (DARA) Big Data, the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), and the Inter-university Institute for Data-Intensive Astronomy (IDiA) are organizing a virtual, 3-day hackathon competition for students and young professionals in Africa.
This hackathon will focus on project topics:
1: Image classification
2: Sentiment analysis of Twitter Data (related to COVID-19).
The hackathon is part of a program to develop data science, programming and related skills in Africa in the context of huge radio astronomy projects.
The competition is open to participants from all African countries. Visit the hackathon webpage for further eligibility requirements and application information.
