Call for Abstracts for the International Asteroid Day

Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority is collaborating with the University of Tanzania to organise the 2nd International Conference on Astro tourism under the theme “Promoting Tanzania Destination through Astro Tourism and Cultural Heritage”. The event will be held on 29 June 2023 at the Songwe Hill Motel in the Songwe Region in Tanzania. This is part of a series of events commemorating World Meteorological Day on 30 June 2023.

The Songwe region is important as its location is the home of the Mbozi meteorite, which weighs 12 tons making it the world’s eighth-largest known meteorite. The coordinators are inviting abstracts for the following subthemes:

Abstract Submission Guidelines 
  • Abstracts should be at most 250 words and include Title, sub-theme, authors’ names, institution affiliation, e-mail address and cell phone numbers, Context, Objectives, Methodology, Findings, Implication, Conclusion, Recommendations, and not more than five Keywords.
  • To present your paper, the abstract must pass a double-blind peer review first, and the decision on the outcome will be communicated to you within two weeks. 
  • Upon registration, you will be invited as a participant but will be considered for presentation once your abstract is accepted.
  • Use font type New Times Roman, Size 12 and 1.5 line spacing.
  • Papers are expected to have a uniform format with a maximum of 20 pages, including references, appendices, figures etc.

  • Abstract submission: 1 April 2023
  • Deadline for Abstract submission: 15 June 2023
  • Deadline for full paper submission: 20 June 2023
  • Selected papers will be published in reputable journals such as Huria Journal and the African Economic Review.
