The GEO Week 2020 Industry Track is a dedicated Networking Platform which will bring together development practitioners, governments, and the private sector with a special focus on supporting Small and Medium Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) to advance their access to knowledge, markets and partners. The GEO Week 2020 Industry Track will feature virtual talks, matchmaking B2B and B2G in virtual rooms, giveaways, the Space Tech Challenge Competition announcement and more.
In 2019, GEO held their first Industry Track in Canberra, Australia, that brought together world-leading space and spatial companies to connect with the GEO community and discuss how to develop sustainable commercial solutions and products that meet regional, local and global needs. The events and activities enabled participating organizations to promote their capabilities, forge partnerships, conclude deals and announce new initiatives.
Speakers at this year’s event are carefully chosen specialists in the topics of Earth observation and its various intersections. The line-up includes world-class leaders Rebecca Moore, Director at Google Earth; Prof. Gilberto Camara, Secretariat Director at GEO; and Mmboneni Muofhe, Deputy Director-General: Technology Innovation @ Department of Science and Technology and GEO Co-Chair; Andiswa Mlisa, Managing Director of Earth Observation Directorate at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
