NewSpace Systems, a leading global manufacturer of space components and subsystems, seeks an experienced and dynamic Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to join its executive team in Somerset West, South Africa. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth, optimising sales performance, and expanding the company’s market presence. In addition, the CRO will oversee all revenue-generating functions and align them with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive revenue growth strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals.
- Lead the creation of annual and quarterly revenue targets, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, spearheading market expansion initiatives.
Sales Management
- Oversee the sales team, establish performance goals, and ensure the achievement of sales targets.
- Implement sales processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
Marketing Leadership
- Lead the marketing team in designing and executing integrated marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Oversee market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to inform marketing and sales strategies.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across all marketing channels and campaigns.
Revenue Operations
- Optimise revenue operations by streamlining processes and leveraging technology to enhance productivity and data accuracy.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of revenue-generating activities.
- Collaborate with the CFO to ensure accurate revenue forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
Customer Experience and Retention
- Lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
- Develop and implement customer success programs to maximise the value customers derive from the company’s products and services.
- Analyse customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.
Leadership and Team Development
- Mentor and lead the Marketing and Sales teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on marketing and sales matters.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other C-level executives to ensure alignment of revenue strategies with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Finance teams to support product launches, pricing strategies, and financial planning.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that contribute to overall business growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Relevant Engineering or Business degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of sales experience, with at least 10+ years in the space domain.
