The 14th AARSE International Conference, organised by the University Félix Houphouët-Boigny and the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE), has been rescheduled. Initially set for November 4–8, 2024, the conference will now take place from November 26 to 30, 2024, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Hosted through the Centre Universitaire de Recherche et d’Application en Télédétection (CURAT), the event will focus on the theme, “Earth Observation: Pillar of Africa’s Sustainable Socioeconomic Development”, and promises to be one of the most important gatherings for the African and international Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial community in 2024.

Since its inception in 1996 in Harare, Zimbabwe, the conference has become the premier forum for cutting-edge research on remote sensing technologies and geospatial information science in Africa. Past conferences have been hosted in key locations such as:
- Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (1998)
- Cape Town, South Africa (2000)
- Abuja, Nigeria (2002)
- Nairobi, Kenya (2004)
