The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), with the support of the University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC), have announced a call for applications for the KiboCUBE Academy workshop on 30th November 2024. The workshop will be held at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. The KiboCUBE Academy has been providing knowledge to participants interested in CubeSat development, and through this workshop, participants will learn how to develop, operate and utilise small satellites.
Programme Overview
Participants will use a CubeSat training kit (HETPA-sat) and learn the basic subsystems of the satellite, including structure, electrical power supply, command and data handling, communication, ground station, and sensors. Additionally, they will learn how to integrate those subsystems to create a working satellite.

- Eligibility: University students and those with bachelor’s degrees or higher in developing economies and economies in transition.
- Note: The workshop participation fee is free. However, you must cover your travel and accommodation expenses to the venue.

Registration is open, and participants can apply through this link. However, the maximum number of participants is restricted to 40. Registration is first-come-first-served and will close once the maximum number is reached.
