The Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa invites space entrepreneurs who want to use space technology for global sustainability to apply for the NextGen Space Challenge 2024. The challenge also invites students and young professionals aged 21-35 from Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, and the UK. Participants can participate individually or in teams (of two to four people) and will form part of the 2024/25 NextGen Space cohort.
This year’s programme will select the five best applicants from each participating country. These chosen individuals will gain access to an international incubation programme designed to help them further develop their ideas. Upon completing the incubator, all participants will present their projects at a “Pitch Den” event. The audience will include representatives from universities and various industries. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to pitch for several potential benefits, including:
- Academic scholarships
- Mentorship programs
- Career prospects
- Potential investments
Additionally, up to three standout performers from the Pitch Den will be eligible to receive an innovation award of GBP 1,000 each.
