The NEOSS Communities of Practice (CoP) workshop is an annual event dedicated to expediting and streamlining the execution of CoP strategies and work plans within the Earth Observations (EO) and space communications and navigation domains to foster collaborative synergy among CoPs to translate strategic objectives into tangible actions.
This year, the workshop will be held in collaboration with the collaborative capacity development programme on Earth Observations and tools for enhancing national capabilities with the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). The capacity development program, themed “Empowering National Uptake: Leveraging Earth Observation Data and Knowledge,” will take place from 8:30 to 18:00 at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) convention centre in South Africa.
The workshop will allow participants to improve their skills and knowledge and provide insights into leveraging Earth observation data and tools to address local challenges. The training session will bring together the EO and space community to learn about innovative EO approaches and their relevance to the country’s priority sectors.
During the workshop, participants will focus on enhancing their skills and knowledge in leveraging EO data for local challenges. Our experts will introduce innovative EO approaches that are directly relevant to the country’s priority sectors. The workshop will also delve into models like the EO Maturity Indicator, which is used to assess EO capabilities across technical infrastructure, data availability, user engagement, and policy support.
