The United Nations/Austria World Space Forum 2023, themed ‘’Space 4 Our Common Future’’ and jointly hosted by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA) is open. The event will be held at the Vienna International Centre (VIC), Vienna, Austria, between 12 – 14 December 2023.
Eligibility
The World Space Forum brings together experts and policymakers from regional, national and local institutions, private organisations, academic institutions, non-governmental organisations and international organisations.
In addition, the organisers strive to support gender mainstreaming in their programmes and are committed to achieving a balanced representation of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Call for Abstract
Applicants who wish to be considered to contribute to the event as a speaker or to present a poster will be asked to include an abstract of a maximum of 250 words in the online application form. Please note that this is not mandatory, but it is recommended if you want to apply as a fully/partially funded participant. In addition, successful applicants who submit an abstract and are selected as participants are not guaranteed to be chosen as speakers.
Only applications submitted through the online form will be accepted. Successful candidates will be contacted by email in October. Organisers will announce the selection on the event webpage.

- Motivation to participate in the World Space Forum;
- Expectations from the meeting; and
- How learning and networking at the conference will be used after the event.

- Please name your file: (Surname/Name/Signature form); and
- Send the signed signature form in PDF to worldspaceforum@un.org.
Only completed applications with all the requested information and documents will be considered.
Timeline
- The deadline to apply for funding closes: 4 September 2023;
- The call for abstracts closes: 4 September 2023; and
- The deadline for registration to attend in person without funding closes: 1 December 2023.
