Electronic Card Design Engineer
Senegalese Space Programme (SENSAT) is hiring an Electronic Card Design Engineer trainee for a six-month internship contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hardware development of SENSAT’s payload development projects, which aim to develop the first line of space payloads “made in Senegal.”
Key Responsibilities
- Payload specification;
- Drafting payload card specifications;
- Develop and Study electronic cards;
- Choice of components and entry of diagrams;
- Drafting the design file, justification, simulations, and worst-case analysis;
- Writing constraints and monitoring routing;
- Writing the verification plan and carrying out tests with embedded firmware design; and
- Planning system validation and product development.
Skills
- Design of electronic circuits: Ability to design analogue and digital circuits, to understand and apply the principles of electronics;
- PCB Design: Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, etc. Ability to create schematics, design PCB layouts, and generate Gerber files for manufacturing;
- Circuit simulation: Ability to use circuit simulation tools such as SPICE to verify and optimise circuit designs;
- Soldering and prototyping: Experience soldering and prototyping electronic components on circuit boards printed;
- Testing and Debugging: Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators and multimeters to test and debug circuits and PCBs; and
- Autonomous in writing structured documents in French and English to interact internationally.

Embedded Systems Engineer
SENSAT is hiring an Embedded Systems Engineer trainee under a six-month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing customer needs;
- Drafting technical specifications;
- Designing and defining the architecture of the solutions;
- The specification of technical solutions;
- Actively developing and integrating solutions; and
- Carrying out the verification & validation phase of deliverables.
Skills
- Embedded systems design and development: Ability to design, develop and test embedded systems using programming languages such as C/C++ and integrated development tools (IDE) such as Eclipse;
- Knowledge of microcontrollers: Experience with various microcontrollers, such as ARM, AVR, PIC, etc. Understand their architecture, their operation and their interfaces;
- Real-time programming: Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as FreeRTOS and the ability to write multitasking code;
- Debugging and testing: Ability to use hardware and software debugging tools to test and validate embedded systems;
- Communication and protocol: Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded systems, such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc, and
- Autonomous in writing structured documents in French and English.
