Simera Sense is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembly, Integration & Testing Manager to lead the company’s electro-optical systems production team. This critical role involves overseeing the precise assembly, integration, and testing of sophisticated camera systems that contribute to space missions worldwide.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and coordinate the electronics Assembly, Integration, & Testing (AIT) team to achieve project milestones.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Manage technical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.

Technical Excellence

  • Oversee and continuously develop electronics manufacturing, assembly, and integration processes for electro-optical systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive system and component-level analysis of electro-optical systems.
  • Perform rigorous testing under various environmental conditions to ensure performance specifications are met.
  • Maintain expertise in electronics production processes, including PCB reflow, precision hand-soldering, and comprehensive testing protocols.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures throughout the production process
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits of electro-optical systems
  • Address and resolve non-conformances promptly and effectively
  • Ensure strict compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all assembly, integration, and testing activities

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in electronics systems manufacturing and production.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven team leadership experience managing technicians.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electronics production processes, including PCB reflow, hand-soldering, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Strong background in electronics subassembly testing and validation procedures.
  • Excellent technical report writing capabilities using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Experience working in cleanroom environments
  • Background in environmental testing and acceptance testing to aerospace-grade standards
  • Understanding of radiation effects on electronic components and systems
  • Hands-on experience with electro-optical systems and imaging technology
  • Proficiency in Python test script development and implementation

Position Requirements

This role may require flexibility to work weekends and after-hours as project demands dictate, reflecting the dynamic nature of space industry operations.
