The Global Monitoring for Environment and Security and Africa (GMES & Africa) is pleased to announce its second webinar series scheduled for 23 May at 2:30 p.m. This workshop will explore the development and financing of the African New Space ecosystem, aiming to maximize its benefits for as many actors as possible. The focus will be on the African countries advancing their space policies in recent years.
Objectives
This webinar will explore methodologies relevant to the emergence of a NewSpace ecosystem on the
African continent. It will also explore financing opportunities for NewSpace in Africa and identify the paths to follow to develop it. The workshop will support the study of the main problems encountered by the different actors of the African NewSpace and the solutions each can provide. In addition, the workshop will provide elements for reflection on the relationships between established and emerging space economies in financing the African space sector.
The webinar has three specific objectives:
- Raise awareness of the environment and the actors of Newspace in Africa;
- Raise awareness of the main issues in the development and financing of the sector;
- Present solutions provided by the different actors of the African Newspace.
