The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) is organising a series of webinars to from 6–8 October 2022 to commemorate the World Space Week. The World Space Week is an international event held each year from October 4-10 to celebrate science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. In line with this year’s theme, “Space and Sustainability”, KSA will invite speakers to discuss matters around the sustainable exploitation of Space. Interested persons can register for the webinar here.
In addition to the series of webinars, the event will also feature an art and project proposal challenge. The project proposal challenge aims to engage the youth and young professionals in the World Space Week 2022 event. As a result, KSA is inviting young professionals to submit a written project proposal that aligns with this year’s WSW theme on “Space and Sustainability”.
The proposals should clearly indicate how we can achieve sustainability in space and from space as per the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. The challenge will be open to students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35. As a result, KSA expects interested persons to submit the final proposal either as a poster, PowerPoint presentation or written paper to research@ksa.go.ke by 30 September 2022.
Likewise, interested persons are to clearly indicate their names, ages, proposal titles, and institutions. Proposals submitted in a written format are not to exceed 2000 words.
