About the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya

The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) is an intergovernmental organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in 1975 under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union (AU). RCMRD’s primary mandate is to promote the sustainable development of natural resources in Africa through geospatial technology. RCMRD provides a range of services, including training, research, and consultancy services, to its member states in land management, natural resource management, and environmental management. The organisation has 20 member states in Eastern and Southern Africa.
