The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) kindly invites interested persons to participate in the 4th South African Group on Earth Observations (SA-GEO) symposium and 3rd Space for National Development (SND). SANSA and the Department of Science and Innovation’s National Earth Observation and Space Secretariat (NEOSS) are jointly co-hosting the event. Furthermore, the events will hold at the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) International Convention Centre, Pretoria, South Africa, from 15-17 March 2022.

The SA-GEO symposium is an annual gathering of South Africa’s Space science and technology community. The gathering aims to highlight, promote, and share knowledge and information on space and Earth observation applications, products and services. The symposium also intends to discuss the uses of the product to realise socio-economic and environmental benefits and improve decision-making. It also provides interaction opportunities between professionals interested in Earth Observation. These include researchers, academics, public officials, industry, data suppliers, consultants, and NGOs.

On the other hand, the SND unites decision-makers in the national space fraternity to learn about SANSA and its relevance to national imperatives. This will ignite conversations amongst the delegates on how best to develop a coordinated and collective approach towards a space programme for national development.

The events will feature an exciting programme that includes keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical sessions, poster papers, etc. It will also feature an industry networking and showcasing opportunity, and a space science and technology exhibition. The exhibition will subsequently encourage engagement.

Interested participants can register for the events here. Furthermore, interested organisations can register for exhibitions here. You can also submit an abstract for the technical, showcasing and poster sessions here. Meanwhile, you can apply here for participation support for the NEOSS Youth Grant Programme.
