The Aerospace Industry Support Initiative (AISI) invites proposals for its latest round of the Aerospace and Defence Industry Development and Technology Support (ADIDTS) programme. This is a unique opportunity for enterprises and organisations to fuel growth, innovation, and technology advancement within South Africa’s aerospace and defence sectors.

This call for proposals encourages businesses, especially small to medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs), to submit projects that align with South Africa’s national strategic objectives, particularly in fostering local talent, advancing technical expertise, and driving economic transformation. The Call For Proposals (CFP) is also open to local integrators, sub-systems suppliers and SMMEs.

Key Focus Thematic Areas

All technology validation and transfer projects must fall within one of the thematic areas to be approved for support. In addition, the thematic areas selected for this CFP are at the AISI’s discretion and considered most relevant for technology advancement in South Africa. They include;

  • Space
  • Avionics
  • Propulsion
  • Surveillance and Sensor Systems
  • Land Systems

Only projects with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) or Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) of more than four (4) at the start of the project will be considered for support. A continuation of projects previously supported by the AISI will also be considered.
