Register for the 14th AARSE International Conference

The 14th AARSE International Conference (AARSE 2024), Earth Observations and Geospatial Science in Service of Sustainable Development Goals, organised by University Félix Houphouët-Boigny, will be held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from 4- 8 November 2024.

Organised by the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE) and the University Félix Houphouët-Boigny through the Centre Universitaire de Recherche et d’Application en Télédétection (CURAT) and themed “Earth observation: pillar of Africa sustainable socioeconomic development,”  the conference will be a significant event in the African and international EO and geospatial community in 2024.

AARSE is a non-political scientific organization. Its primary objective is to increase the awareness of African governments and their institutions, the private sector and society at large about the empowering and enhancing benefits of developing, applying and responsibly utilizing the products and services of Earth Observation Systems and Geo-information Technology. AARSE membership includes professional individuals, institutions, and national associations from all over Africa and worldwide who work in remote sensing, photogrammetry, and geographical information science domains.

The conference will explore sub-themes such as Environmental monitoring, blue economy, marine and coastal ecosystem management, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategy, smart agriculture, urban planning and infrastructure development, disaster management, water resources management, health and diseases monitoring, transportation and connectivity, food security, and low-cost observation technology.

AARSE 2024 Call for Abstract

Paper selection is based on abstract and full paper peer review following the guidelines provided in the Call for Paper document that can be downloaded from the conference website.

The AARSE international conference is conducted biennially across Africa, alternately with the AfricaGIS conference. It is the premier forum in Africa for research on remote sensing technologies and geospatial information science, gathering leading scholars from remote sensing and related communities.
