Space in Africa and CompTIA Space Enterprise Council will be hosting a webinar on the US-African Space Cooperation, titled “Unlocking Innovation Across the Continent”. The webinar will take place on 16th November 2021.
Although they have been long active trade partners, the United States and Africa have only had limited ties on space cooperations. However, with the new generation of Africans leading the charge in the African space industry to make the continent a formidable, innovative space power, the challenges and opportunities available need to be addressed to strengthen space cooperation ties between Africa and the United States.
Furthermore, according to Space in Africa, African space industry revenue should surpass $10.24 billion by 2024, with at least 19 African countries having launched at least one satellite into space. Space technologies continue to be instrumental to Africa’s development, with an increasing number of ongoing space application projects across the continent.
Thus, the event aims to examine the current and future challenges and opportunities to US-African space cooperation focusing on innovation, space technologies, services, and applications. Featured speakers include leading government representatives from Egypt, Kenya, and South Africa.
The event, which will be virtual, will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, by 10-1130 EST/ 4-530pm WAT.
