The Women in Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and Spatial Information Science Forum holds today June 6, 2022, between 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm GMT +2 in Nice, France, at the 14th International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Congress.
The forum “Women in Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and Spatial Information Science,” is organised by Sheryl Rose Reyes, Charmaine Cruz and Laxmi Thapa (ISPRS Student Consortium) and Dr. Marguerite Madden (ISPRS), in partnership with Dr. Morgan Crowley, Ladies of Landsat.
The forum intends to bring together women working in remote sensing, photogrammetry and spatial information science, within and outside of ISPRS. The forum will also provide an opportunity for women to share their professional tales and exchange ideas and experiences.
In addition, the ultimate purpose of this forum is to increase awareness about the current condition of women in the field and to promote diversity and inclusivity within ISPRS through the sharing of ideas and recommendations to society.
Some of the presenters include Karen Joyce, She Maps Australia; Heather McNairn, Inspire, Develop, Empower, and Advance (IDEA) Committee from IEEE GRSS; Kate Fickas, Meghan Halabisky, and Flávia de Souza Mendes, Ladies of Landsat; Julia Wagemann, Women+ in Geospatial; Yariwo Kitiyo, Women in GIS Kenya; and Gopika Suresh, Laura Dingle-Robertson, and Sarah Banks, Sisters of SAR; among others.
