Excitement is rising in the global Earth observations industry with the GEO Week 2021 Virtual Industry Track nearby. The 2021 edition is themed ‘Accelerating Action Through Public-Private Partnership. In addition, the two-day event will be a space for stakeholders to network, build on their knowledge and showcase the industry advancements.
GEO (Group on Earth Observations) will host the event, with ZASPACE and the global organising committee organising it. Furthermore, Trimble and Esri will serve as the primary sponsors. Additionally, a line-up of speakers, expert panellists and attendees look forward to engaging with 16 Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs). These SMMEs will showcase their progress in the Earth observations space. In addition to this, they will build connections that foster public-private partnerships for the industry’s good.
The 2020 event saw a total of 436 registrations from 40 countries worldwide. The 2021 edition will compete with those numbers due to the admirable speaker line-up. The expert speakers include Director at GEO Secretariat, Yana Gevorgyan and Esri, Principal Product Engineer Keith vanGraafieland. It also includes CEO and Founder of AgriSpace Africa, Ruvimbo Samanga, Planet Co-founder Will Marshall and more. The speakers will discuss topics centred around the theme, ‘Accelerating Action Through Public-Private Partnership’. These topics will consequently discuss issues around the areas of climate change; Intellectual Property Transfer, Open Data and Regulations; Equity Diversity and Inclusion; and Global Partnership for Mutual Growth, to name few.
In addition to the speakers and panels, guests are looking forward to engaging with 16 Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in the Earth observations industry. They will showcase their innovation and connect with attendees. Furthermore, each SMME will have a 7-minute slot to present their work, followed by a 3-minute feedback interaction with a panel of senior GEO Associates. They will be there to help guide your business initiatives. This event feature will encourage public-private partnerships and networking by showcasing their Earth observations achievements and hopes for the sector.
