The seventh round of the KiboCUBE space programme is underway, with the applications closing on the 31st of December 2021. As earlier mentioned here, applicants are required to attend the KiboCUBE Academy’s second season. Consequently. the registration is now open for the academy.
Through KiboCUBE Academy Season 1, The United Nations Office on Outer Space Activities (UNOOSA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), along with the support of the University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC) Global, conducted a webinar series of four days. The webinar’s purpose was for future KiboCUBE applicants to learn to design, develop, and test their CubeSat. Furthermore, it included lessons on operating the CubeSat and utilising the data from their CubeSats to develop useful applications.
Registration for the KiboCUBE academy’s second season is now open, and interested persons can register here. In addition, the second KiboCUBE Academy Season 2 will consist of three parts;
- On-Demand Pre-Recorded Lectures,
- Live Sessions; and

The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) launched the Access to Space for All Initiative in 2018. The Initiative has subsequently aimed at building capacity through opportunities in space research and space science data services. These services include micro and hypergravity experiments, space missions, and human spaceflight-related activities. In addition, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) developed the International Space Station (ISS) Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo”. JAXA has been operating it since 2008.
