Dr Felix Ale, Head of Media and Corporate Communications of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), announced that the agency is inviting interested Nigerians who can provide space-based technological solutions to challenges in Nigeria to participate in its hackathon.
The thematic areas include:
- Robotics;
- Artificial Intelligence;Â
- Cyber-security;
- Disruptive space applications; andÂ
- Nanotechnology.
Benefits
Successful candidates who emerge as winners will be:
- Mentored by industry experts; and
- Have access to incubation opportunities.
Prizes
- First Position – NGN 1 million (USD 1,351);
- Second Position – NGN 750,000 (USD 1,013); and
- Third Position – NGN 500,000 (USD 675).
Eligibility
- Participants must be citizens of Nigeria with valid means of identification;
- Participants must have a product or innovative solution that solves specific problems relating to any of the thematic areas listed above;
- Participants must not be a company representative with a product already in the market; and
- Participants must be ready to participate physically in the hackathon programme in Abuja throughout the period.
Timeline
- Online Application: February 23, 2023 – March 15 2023;
- Hackathon start date: May 8 2023; and
- Hackathon end date: May 13 2023.
